December 5th and 6th

Hi everyone.  We’re still in Hot Springs and have been to some interesting places since our last update.  We first went to a house built for the Southern Living magazine, one of three built in different states in southern USA each year.  This one is over 5,000 sq. ft, two stories, fully furnished, decorated for Christmas and on a fully landscaped .65 acre lot in a gated community.  And for a cool 1.65 million we could have been proud owners, the price did include everything that we saw in all the rooms, though.  After touring this beautiful house, we headed over to the Buckstaff Bathouse for a mineral bath to experience what everyone was talking about.  The building was constructed in the early 1900’s and hasn’t changed much since.  We paid our fees and each headed in different directions (no co-ed bathing here).  Once in the bathing area you remove all clothing, an attendant wraps a sheet around you toga style and off to the tubs.  The tubs are deep old style bathtubs with a whirlpool jet at one end, the mineral water is cooled down to about 100 – 102 degrees to start and the soaking begins.  After about 10 minutes the attendant returns to exfolliate your body with soap and a loofa, she adds more hot water, then more soaking.  Once out of the soaking tubs, we experienced a sitz bath, steam room, being wrapped in hot wet towel over the achy areas, a lukewarm shower and a swedish massage.  The whole process took around 1 1/2 hours to complete.  We both felt relaxed when finished.  After the Bathouse experience we went over to Garvan Woodland Gardens, a botanical garden that has been decorated for Christmas with over 1 1/2 million lights.  It was like a fairy land and when we were walking through the different displays we knew that it would be hard to describe and any pictures we took wouldn’t do it justice.  Try to imagine over 20 acres of trees decorated in lights of all colors, including the walk ways lined with different style lights for each themed display.  Wait a minute, we know some pervert will want to know why there aren’t pictures of’ the bathouse, cameras weren’t allowed.
